Ice Hockey

Salt Lake 2002 featured more than two full weeks of hockey game, players hitting the ice again and again in the rapid-fire tournament that would determine the medal winners. For the women, it finally came down to Canada and the United States, the defending gold-medal champions from 1998. Thanks in part to 25 saves by goalkeeper Kim St. Pierre, Canada won, 3-1.

The men played their gold-medal game just hours before the Closing Ceremony on February 24, Canada winning again.
